Gladiator Engines and Performance

The Gladiator is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The optional upgrade is a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel that makes 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard for the base engine, while an 8-speed automatic is optional. The diesel comes with an 8-speed automatic exclusively.

The Gladiator is equally comfortable on trails as it is pavement. You’ll enjoy a comfortable and relaxed ride quality on the road for passenger comfort and driver confidence. While all models are capable of off-roading, the Rubicon and Mojave trim levels are the best choices for serious enthusiasts. The Rubicon includes features like all-terrain tires, increased ground clearance, a two-speed transfer case, and body-protecting skid plates and rock rails.

The Mojave takes it a step further with a locking front differential and disconnecting stabilizer bar, a reinforced frame, a specialized transfer case, and a Desert Rated badge.

Gladiator Towing and Safety Features

The Gladiator provides many features to make towing safer and more confident. You can add the integrated trailer brake controller, which adds adjustable braking power to your trailer’s electric brakes for better stopping power. There’s also a ParkView® rear backup camera, which displays gridlines for the wheels and a hitch zoom to guide the truck to the trailer perfectly every time.

Several safety features are on offer, such as blind-spot monitoring, a feature that apprises you if there’s a vehicle in your blind spot when changing lanes, and rear parking sensors. You can also add adaptive cruise control, which keeps a set distance from the vehicle ahead on the highway, so you can stay with the flow of traffic.
